NRA's Sponsors Under Attack

Some of the sponsors for our National Rifle Association have come under attack recently by the left. One person in particular CNN's latest, groomed, pampered, leftist poster child David Hogg who seems to be hogging as much face time in the press as he can possibly get. Hogg, hailed by the media's left as the "articulate", seemingly intelligent but naïve and poorly informed spokesperson representing the national, leftist, anti-second amendment, anti American, anti-gun movement in the nation on the heels of the deadly Florida High School shooting.

Hogg's calling for boycotts of a number of businesses including Amazon, the National Rifle Association, United Airlines, Apple, Fed Ex, Hotel Planner, Roku, Vista Outdoors, Vinesse Wines, Roku and more. Delta Airlines has already joined in on the boycott of the National Rifle Association and has caught the wrath of Georgia at least.

So, let's give them all of the support we can give them. Turn our attention away from those companies who would follow the left, crumble under the pressure of the left to threaten our Second Amendment rights. Let's quit flying Delta at all costs and let's make our mark with all of those other companies who simply believe the majority of Americans are wrong.

It's past time to take our country back and to Make America Great Again!

Finally, let's be done with this poster child of the left, David Hogg.

That U.S./Mexico Border Wall!

It's going up! And it's way overdue. California's the first major stretch of it.It seems Mexico's not all that happy about it but hey, who cares? I mean, I don't need a wall to keep me out of Mexico. I went a couple of times and the first time was more than enough. The "adventures" got worse each time. I'm done with that place. But, those Mexican politicos,  they think they need fences and walls on their southern border, and they probably do to keep the bad guys in. They have those fences and walls and they're well patrolled. In fact, their "border patrol" police are not forgiving at all to "trespassers"! It's rape, robbery, prison, extortion, ransom and/or a shallow grave from what I've heard and read.

Nah, we need that wall and we'll have that wall. Immigrate properly or stay home. It works both ways.

Thanks to One America News for the article! I didn't see it anywhere else until OAN put it out there on the internet.

Some Eye Opening Gun Facts...

I was perusing some sites on the internet and came across this little gem. It's a bit dated but the facts and figures trend the same way, or so I've noticed. I thought I'd pass it along. If you want to do your own fact check/research there's plenty of sources listed in the information that follows. Just Google or otherwise review the information yourself. I've been doing my own review and though dated, all seems legit to me. It's just in need of some more current figures.

Here's the info:

Fact Sheet: Guns Save Lives

A. Guns save more lives than they take; prevent more injuries than they inflict
guns used 2.5 million times a year in self-defense. Law-abiding citizens use guns to defend themselves against criminals as many as 2.5 million times every year -- or about 6,850 times a day.

[1] This means that each year, firearms are used more than 80 times more often to protect the lives of honest citizens than to take lives.
[2] * Of the 2.5 million times citizens use their guns to defend themselves every year, the overwhelming majority merely brandish their gun or fire a warning shot to scare off their attackers. Less than 8% of the time, a citizen will kill or wound his/her attacker.
[3] * As many as 200,000 women use a gun every year to defend themselves against sexual abuse.
[4] * Even anti-gun Clinton researchers concede that guns are used 1.5 million times annually for self-defense. According to the Clinton Justice Department, there are as many as 1.5 million cases of self-defense every year. The National Institute of Justice published this figure in 1997 as part of "Guns in America" -- a study which was authored by noted anti-gun criminologists Philip Cook and Jens Ludwig.
[5] * Armed citizens kill more crooks than do the police. Citizens shoot and kill at least twice as many criminals as police do every year (1,527 to 606).
[6] And readers of Newsweek learned that "only 2 percent of civilian shootings involved an innocent person mistakenly identified as a criminal. The 'error rate' for the police, however, was 11 percent, more than five times as high."
[7] * Handguns are the weapon of choice for self-defense. Citizens use handguns to protect themselves over 1.9 million times a year.
[8] Many of these self-defense handguns could be labeled as "Saturday Night Specials."

B. Concealed carry laws help reduce crime * Nationwide: one-half million self-defense uses. Every year, as many as one-half million citizens defend themselves with a firearm away from home.

[9] * Concealed carry laws are dropping crime rates across the country. A comprehensive national study determined in 1996 that violent crime fell after states made it legal to carry concealed firearms. The results of the study showed: * States which passed concealed carry laws reduced their murder rate by 8.5%, rapes by 5%, aggravated assaults by 7% and robbery by 3%;
[10] and * If those states not having concealed carry laws had adopted such laws in 1992, then approximately 1,570 murders, 4,177 rapes, 60,000 aggravated assaults and over 11,000 robberies would have been avoided yearly.
[11] * Vermont: one of the safest five states in the country. In Vermont, citizens can carry a firearm without getting permission... without paying a fee... or without going through any kind of government-imposed waiting period. And yet for ten years in a row, Vermont has remained one of the top-five, safest states in the union -- having three times received the "Safest State Award."
[12] * Florida: concealed carry helps slash the murder rates in the state. In the fifteen years following the passage of Florida's concealed carry law in 1987, over 800,000 permits to carry firearms were issued to people in the state.
[13] FBI reports show that the homicide rate in Florida, which in 1987 was much higher than the national average, fell 52% during that 15-year period -- thus putting the Florida rate below the national average.
[14] * Do firearms carry laws result in chaos? No. Consider the case of Florida. A citizen in the Sunshine State is far more likely to be attacked by an alligator than to be assaulted by a concealed carry holder.
1. During the first fifteen years that the Florida law was in effect, alligator attacks outpaced the number of crimes committed by carry holders by a 229 to 155 margin.
2. And even the 155 "crimes" committed by concealed carry permit holders are somewhat misleading as most of these infractions resulted from Floridians who accidentally carried their firearms into restricted areas, such as an airport.
C. [15]Criminals avoid armed citizens * Kennesaw, GA. In 1982, this suburb of Atlanta passed a law requiring heads of households to keep at least one firearm in the house. The residential burglary rate subsequently dropped 89% in Kennesaw, compared to the modest 10.4% drop in Georgia as a whole.
[16] * Ten years later (1991), the residential burglary rate in Kennesaw was still 72% lower than it had been in 1981, before the law was passed. [17] * Nationwide. Statistical comparisons with other countries show that burglars in the United States are far less apt to enter an occupied home than their foreign counterparts who live in countries where fewer civilians own firearms. Consider the following rates showing how often a homeowner is present when a burglar strikes: * Homeowner occupancy rate in the gun control countries of Great Britain, Canada and Netherlands: 45% (average of the three countries); and, * Homeowner occupancy rate in the United States: 12.7%.
[18] Rapes averted when women carry or use firearms for protection * Orlando, FL. In 1966-67, the media highly publicized a safety course which taught Orlando women how to use guns. The result: Orlando's rape rate dropped 88% in 1967, whereas the rape rate remained constant in the rest of Florida and the nation.
[19] * Nationwide. In 1979, the Carter Justice Department found that of more than 32,000 attempted rapes, 32% were actually committed. But when a woman was armed with a gun or knife, only 3% of the attempted rapes were actually successful.
[20] Justice Department study: * 3/5 of felons polled agreed that "a criminal is not going to mess around with a victim he knows is armed with a gun."
[21] * 74% of felons polled agreed that "one reason burglars avoid houses when people are at home is that they fear being shot during the crime."
[22] * 57% of felons polled agreed that "criminals are more worried about meeting an armed victim than they are about running into the police."

Dr. Kleck is a professor in the school of criminology and criminal justice at Florida State University in Tallahassee. He has researched extensively and published several essays on the gun control issue. His book, Point Blank: Guns and Violence in America, has become a widely cited source in the gun control debate. In fact, this book earned Dr. Kleck the prestigious American Society of Criminology Michael J. Hindelang award for 1993. This award is given for the book published in the past two to three years that makes the most outstanding contribution to criminology. Even those who don't like the conclusions Dr. Kleck reaches, cannot argue with his impeccable research and methodology. In "A Tribute to a View I Have Opposed," Marvin E. Wolfgang writes that, "What troubles me is the article by Gary Kleck and Marc Gertz. The reason I am troubled is that they have provided an almost clear-cut case of methodologically sound research in support of something I have theoretically opposed for years, namely, the use of a gun in defense against a criminal perpetrator.... I have to admit my admiration for the care and caution expressed in this article and this research. Can it be true that about two million instances occur each year in which a gun was used as a defensive measure against crime? It is hard to believe. Yet, it is hard to challenge the data collected. We do not have contrary evidence." Wolfgang, "A Tribute to a View I Have Opposed," The Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology, at 188. Wolfgang says there is no "contrary evidence." Indeed, there are more than a dozen national polls -- one of which was conducted by The Los Angeles Times -- that have found figures comparable to the Kleck-Gertz study. Even the Clinton Justice Department (through the National Institute of Justice) found there were as many as 1.5 million defensive users of firearms every year. See National Institute of Justice, "Guns in America: National Survey on Private Ownership and Use of Firearms," Research in Brief (May 1997). As for Dr. Kleck, readers of his materials may be interested to know that he is a member of the ACLU, Amnesty International USA, and Common Cause. He is not and has never been a member of or contributor to any advocacy group on either side of the gun control debate.
[2] According to the National Safety Council, the total number of gun deaths (by accidents, suicides and homicides) account for less than 30,000 deaths per year. See Injury Facts, published yearly by the National Safety Council, Itasca, Illinois.

The finding of 1.5 million yearly self-defense cases did not sit well with the anti-gun bias of the study's authors, who attempted to explain why there could not possibly be one and a half million cases of self-defense every year. Nevertheless, the 1.5 million figure is consistent with a mountain of independent surveys showing similar figures. The sponsors of these studies -- nearly a dozen -- are quite varied, and include anti-gun organizations, news media organizations, governments and commercial polling firms.

The Memo's Released!!!

The ten page memo that the democrat's wrote in response to the Republican's memo regarding alleged FISA abuse orchestrated by the FBI has been released to the public today for our own "consumption".

You can read the One America News story relating to the democrat's response and the facts included in the memo's release at the OAN web page. It's actually a good read. They're obviously in panic mode. The public comments following the OAN article help set the tone.

Enjoy!

I did borrow a comment from a fellow who goes by the name "All American" in the comments section. I took the liberty of editing it up a bit and posting it here:

Mowing The Grass!!!

Now, I have a "coffee through the nose" comment here in this post. I mean, when I read and heard it I stared at the computer in awe. Surely she was joking... This Pelosi person. This latest Nancy Pelosi statement helps us to define just how far her mind has wandered from her mouth...

Here's her latest in a discussion about building a wall on our southern border. "Let’s talk about where a more serious structure might be necessary, where fencing will do or mowing the grass so people can’t be smuggled through the grass,".... Seriously?! MOWING THE GRASS?! Pelosi is literally a blithering idiot! Come on Pelosi, come on California! Get real. You're diminished Nancy... SHE'S diminished California! It's time for her to retire!!

Term limits are so desperately needed for our politicos! Nancy Pelosi, the gift that keeps on giving. Do the right thing Pelosi, RETIRE!

Nope, we can't just make this shat up! This is one helluva entertaining politico. What a mockery she's made of the California voters.

Darned Guns!!!

Mike Brown calls out his guns and they failed to respond! I guess he trained them well or he bought lazy ones. What can I say, it's a gun control experiment.

Thanks Mike! Great video! It's spot on.

If you're interested in more of Instructor Mike's videos and common sense approach to things hop on over to his Facebook page. Either way this is the same stuff we've been saying all along about those nasty guns. Though Instructor Mike takes it to the next level.

Please Be Right This Time CNN!!!

CNN, the "Clinton News Network" is hinting that Uncle Bernie Sanders will be in the democrat hunt for the next, upcoming POTUS election. From what I can take away from  the article it appears Unc bernie has the support of a lot of those mindless souls who are so intent on wresting the presidency back into the socialist arena. They're considering pulling him onto the democrat ticket again and let's hope they do. They can't, won't think rationally, reasonably. But wait, what am I suggesting? We all know they can't be rational, reasonable.

I mean, they came REAL close via that previous failure, barrack hussein obama! They were trying for an amendment to get another four years out of him at least, or so the rumor goes. They tried their bought and paid for shill, Hill and the Clinton cartel but we all know how that went for them so now in the next election but most likely in eight years of having to endure some semblance of sanity via the draining of the swamp caused by our current POTUS Donald J. Trump they're wanting to return to the socialist track and destroy the progress that we, as Americans, as loyalists voted for in 2016. They want to destroy what we've corrected and they want to take us back to their ultra liberal, ultra socialist agendas. If they can't do it in 2020 they'll settle for 2024.

I mean, their sugar daddy George? He ain't got much more time left in him and he wants to see us on our knees and our republic destroyed before he takes his final ride to Hell. His son, that other Soros fellow will take the reins from there, or so I've read. I suggest we send papa George to Hell without his trophy and keep chipping away at that other soros, his son... not his nephew, bill and hill can work on that. Maybe Bill can take him to that pedophile island place bill loves so much. Heck, Chelsea can tag along too. I'm betting she's been there a time or two herself.

But, I digress. I caution all of us... this IS a CNN article I'm linking to in this post. 40-60 at best on a "truth-lie" scale. Their history speaks for itself. I actually think Mad Magazine had more accurate stats than CNN.

Remove Nunes Petition!

George Soros, aka: "MoveOn.org" along with another liberal cesspools including CREDO, Common Cause (whoever they are), etc. just handed a petition to folks in House Speaker Paul Ryan's Wisconsin office. It seems the 600,000 plus (signatures) petition "insists" on the immediate removal of Committee Chairman Devin Nunes from the House Intelligence Committee.

I wonder why?

Hmmmm... from what I've been reading today in the online press I can see why. Nunes is doing his job and doing it very well. Here's a case in point... He recently sent out a series of questions relating to the "Trump dossier" to a number of current and former "government officials". Given the reaction of the left to the mailings it appears the recipients answers to the questionnaire just might rip open the entire "Russian Connection" and expose the FBI investigation as the witch hunt it actually was, errr is.

Really though, the best part is Soros' reaction.

Judging from Soros', i.e. the left's knee jerk demands it just might not end up to be in the favor of the liberals. But then again, money talks. Either way, it's so much fun to watch politicos squirm. This is much more entertaining than the NFL ever could have been way back in their prime.

As an aside, note to House Speaker Paul Ryan, ya' might want to confirm those 600,000 folks who  signed that petition are actually alive and they're actually who they say they are. I know it's a rare possibility with Soros, et. al. involved but hey, I've heard rumors of fraud lingering in our political cesspoool... errr... system...

just sayin'.

If You Don't Read Anything Read This!

NEVER LET A CRISIS GO TO WASTE!

The left's battle cry! They never let a crisis go to waste. Especially when it affects the hearts and souls of Americans everywhere! They have an overwhelming urge to seize the headlines, seize the opportunity and bastardize an event, any event large enough to affect the voters, those of us who decide our nation's fate. They'll misrepresent everything about their newfound attention magnet and they'll milk it and the empathy, the disgust, the angst that goes with it to the "nth" degree.

Nope, the left, the liberals of this country, of this world are nothing more than sick sensationalists, sick opportunists who will stop at absolutely nothing to get a vote including this alleged episode of the wholesale abuse, opportunistic twist to the Parkland, Florida school shooting. Could it be that they propped up a "concerned student activist" who's allegedly "genuinely concerned" about our nation's collective citizen's propensity to retain and freely exercise our second amendment rights? Yeah, it's a likely possibility.

It's been mentioned in the media that there's at least one student activist representing the left's gun control efforts following the most recent tragedy in Florida. And it's also been alleged this is not simply a random "student activist". Nope, it's suggested that the particular "activist" and several others have been groomed, coached, funded and mentored by some of the best propagandists in the business... the left... the democrats and leftists who have a true need to deprive us of our guns, our ammunition, our liberties, our second amendment rights... to regulate our education, direct our focus before they can effectively enact their "agenda" for us, our country.

Is there any merit to these claims? I don't know for sure but right, wrong or indifferent the whole idea is troubling.

So tell me, who's playing who?

WAKE UP AMERICA!!! Does Cloward-Piven come to mind? They already have the press, the schools, the health care, the welfare, the needy in their pockets... now all they need are our guns.

Fellow Washingtonians! WAKE UP!!!

Our Second Amendment rights are being trampled by our state legislators, if we let them get away with these latest laws that they're proposing. I once thought these were all "dead" but somehow they've been "resurrected". I was told most didn't pass committee. Evidently there's been some exception made for them to be reconsidered or not...

My whole problem with the first bill that made it past "muster" so far is not so much about the "inclusion of a charge on a list" as it is the definitions used in the particular charge that they're proposing to be included on the list of charges prohibiting firearms ownership. I served as a law enforcement officer in the state of Washington for decades and I know full well how the definition of "domestic violence" can be so fluidly interpreted and subsequently applied by the court, depending upon jurisdiction and "familiarity" with the "suspect" and/or the "victim".

Senate Bill 6298-2017-18 Adds Domestic Violence to the long list of charges that would prohibit firearms ownership. First, in this state "domestic violence" is very loosely interpreted by the respctive county judges even though there's somewhat fluid legal definitions of the "violation". And the reading and inclusion of the word "harassment" into the state's legal definition of "domestic violence" is troublesome, at best. This first bill up really bothers me because our rights are decided based upon independent judges' own personal interpretations of the word "harassment" and its application to the offense of "domestic violence".  Even though there's a legal definition provided we all know those legal definitions are subject to "interpretation" and are far too often determined to be poorly interpreted by the presiding judge.

Sooo- we need to get in contact with your local state senators and representatives and put an end to this bill. It's poorly written and I'm very nervous about the way it tends to partially hinge on the word... "harassment" and all variations of it.

Senate Bill 5992-2017-18 Concerning Trigger Modification Devices prohibits the modification of triggers in firearms, to include bump stocks. In my opinion it's poorly written and shouldn't be considered at this time, if at all. Personally, I have no need nor do I have any desire to modify any of my firearms triggers but then again I don't compete in shooting events, etc. I'm not going to waste my time posting anything more relating to or following this particular bill.

House Bill 2519 allows active duty military members and honorably discharged veterans that are at least 18 years of age to possess pistols and obtain a concealed weapons license in contrast to the current law that prohibits anyone between the ages of 18 and 21 to carry a concealed weapon outside of their residence. It's a good change in the law in my humble opinion.

Three other bills previously mentioned on this blog were defeated.

They included Substitute House Bill 1122 which was a horrible idea that required all firearms be kept in a safe or otherwise locked up and rendered inaccessible when not in use, House Bill 1483 which allowed for firearms confiscated by or forfeited to the Washington State Patrol to be destroyed. Currently they may be sold by law enforcement and finally, Senate Bill 5441 that would have required a "waiting period" for the return to the owner, any firearms  forfeited or otherwise confiscated by the state under the "Involuntary Treatement Act".

We're definitely not done here in Washington State but the defeat of these three bills helped. However Senate Bill  6298 and Senate Bill 5992 should be defeated as written. Both are poorly written and though I understand the intent of each they're not necessary. We have other laws in the Revised Codes of Washington (RCW) and the Washington Administrative Codes (WAC) that address most, if not all of the concerns so poorly illustrated in the two bill proposals.

Let's enforce the laws we already have on the books! There's no need for the creation of new ones.

Fellow Washington State Citizens determine your legislative district if you don't already know it and  contact your respective legislators and let them know your concerns. After all, they work for us therefore they should be representing us, as a majority. Here's their emails...

A shout out to the National Rifle Association Institute For Legislative Action for the timely and constant update on these bill proposals affecting our national and my Washington State's constitutional rights!
